Nevada Taxable Sales Up 2.1 Percent

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Taxable sales in Nevada rose 2.1 percent in November over the same month in 2012.

The Department of Taxation on Tuesday reports merchants statewide sold $3.7 billion in goods, with noticeable gains reported in sales at hotels, bars and restaurants, auto dealerships and food manufacturing.

Clark County saw increased sales of 5.7 percent, while Washoe County in northern Nevada posted a nearly 10 percent increase.

Nevada collected nearly $297 million in gross sales and use taxes in November, an increase of 4.2 percent compared with November 2012.

Statewide, 10 of Nevada’s 17 counties reported increased sales activity.
